Paris Hilton Fiji Boarding Pass

Okay, so this is a bit wierd but someone may want it. We flew to Fiji on August 12th and I had seat 2A up in Business Class. I opened the in-flight magazine and a boarding pass fell out of the page I opened at. That in itself is not unusual, you always find other peoples boarding passes in seat pockets etc.
But this was Paris Hilton's boarding pass! Really! I was sitting where a media-megastar sex goddess had sat!
Actually at first I thought it was a gimmick or an advertising thing in the magazine and so I checked, but there wasn't one in my wife's copy.
Then, when we got home I searched online and found this story which confirmed that the lovely Miss Hilton had indeed been in Fiji: http://www.fijilive.com/news_new/index.php/news/show_news/191
52 and realised it was really hers. (I found lots of other Paris Hilton events too. She seems popular.)
So, if you're a Paris Hilton fan or you collect celebrity memorabilia maybe you'd like this. If no-one does I will put it in my photo album with the photos from the trip as something a bit unusual. It certainly has no other value. It doesn't smell of her perfume, have anything to do with panties or anything, unfortunately!

Thanks for the comment! Yeah, a couple of people have told me that the women's magazines reported that she was here on her way back from Fiji, so I figured it was for real.

Hi Treadbrook,
It seems you have a great find I intend to bid do you have a buy now price? as I think you would get thousands on Ebay? any chance you could put some of her pink sparkly lipstick on it and kiss it could be worth your while?
good luck AML11

Thanks for the thoughts, AML. Yes, I think Ebay would have been a better bet financially, but I'd like to think a little part of Paris stays in New Zealand. I don't have a buy now price, but when you consider that to get your own one of these costs a $900 air-fare this will be a bargain! And no, sadly no sparkly lipstick fell out of the in-flight magazine and although I have indeed kissed the boarding pass I left no trace...

Umm... no... but you have to realise I had already been sitting in it for a while when I found the boarding pass. I had no desire to sniff a seat that had me in it. Do you? Perhaps I could auction something else in that case...
8:06 am, Wed 26 Aug

It was Air Pacific - I don't think ANYONE cleans the planes! Maybe I could offer to clean them next time and find all sorts of other wonderful items... although I'd have to read all the inflight magazines and that would take... oh... over an hour, wouldn't it. But I do agree, it is very lucky. Seat 2A will always have a special place in my heart now. Thanks for your interest and your suggestion about my new career as a plane cleaner.

LOL! I seriously hope not, I don't have time to answer all those questions! And I don't think Paris Hilton is as scary as a time-travelling washing machine or as aggressive as an assault-force handbag. Or maybe she is, but she doesn't look it to me, and since I found this boarding pass I have, I admit, looked at lots of pictures... in the name of research, you understand?
8:48 am, Wed 26 Aug

It was Air Pacific, an Airbus 320... there is no First Class. And yeah, I'll bet that was a shock to her! I also noticed her flight was 8:15 am so they'd have had to be at the airport at about 6 am, and I didn't think rich people had to get up that early. You know... 6 am is a time you stay up UNTIL, not a time you get up AT!
1:59 pm, Wed 26 Aug
Gee, what a find ! I don't suppose you checked the overhead locker, maybe she left other evidence behind ?

2:31 pm, Wed 26 Aug
Yes! I did! Well, actually, I climbed up there to kinda snuggle in where her handbag would have been and soak up the atmosphere. And as I did, it occurred to me that her contents may have shifted during flight. So I checked, and sure enough, there was no paper bag in the seat pocket in front of me. I'm sure someone else has that and will be selling it soon enough. (By the way, in case you're thinking of trying it, the cabin crew DO tell you off for trying to get in the overhead locker.)
2:36 pm, Wed 26 Aug
I can understand you not wanting to talk to the Edge or JJ what is the Edge country and western? and by the way Air pathetic only has economy they call it Business but no better than Air New Zealand economy and not premium

JJ seems perfectly lovely on emails, but I don't know what sort of music they play on The Edge because I am too old for 'That Sort Of Thing' apparently. I think I will talk to them - then I will find out about the music for you! And I know what you mean about Air Pacific. Air New Zealand has MUCH more comfortable overhead lockers. Thanks for your enthusiasm and support! (And, maybe, your money...)

Heh - yeah. Put it another way: Even rich people have to fly on smaller planes with no first class sometimes. I'm still a bit worried that if I'd looked more closely her dog might have been down between the seat cushions... and that she left the boarding pass to remind her where she'd left the dog.
10:01 am, Fri 28 Aug
This is def legit. My girlfriend and I bumped into Paris and her boyfriend at Nadi just after they got off their helicopter on the 12/08. We got on the same helicopter they just got off and my girlfriend sat in the same seat as Paris (but alas there are no boarding passes for the helicopter so we have nothing to auction). There was a long blond hair on my shorts when I sat down in the helicopter next to where Paris was sitting but my girlfriend just said it was one of hers so I threw it away.

Will you help me with the cleaning?
1:10 pm, Fri 28 Aug
Great find ! you definetely need to find some way of getting this auction a bit more world wide coverage.... (Bummer you didnt list on ebay first) Is there a Paris Hilton fan club or something similar ? that you could put a post on a wesite, or a Celebrity gossip website that you could make a comment and add a link to your auction ? You could get yourself a seriously big chunk of money for that ticket - fans pay all sorts of crazy money for stuff like this....Anyway just a thought -good luck :0)

I know so little of the ways of the world, don't I. A couple of weeks ago I thought Paris Hilton was a big hotel in France, and now I am joining her New Zealand fan club inadvertently. I think I'll keep it Kiwi though - I hate all our treasures going offshore. Thanks!
2:01 pm, Fri 28 Aug
How come they let you clean the plane while it was on the way to LA? How long did you sit down for? Was anyone in the seat? Can I see your boarding pass please sir?
2:02 pm, Fri 28 Aug
This is actually quite sad.
At least you can laugh all the way to the bank with the money you will make from some sucker here on TM.
Or wait.. as it belongs to Paris, maybe she left it behind by mistake.....does that mean you can legally sell it as you don't actually legally own it... ??????
I mean its lost right but you know who the owner is so surely you cant sell? Can you?
Sent it back to her requesting she does not leave her rubbish behind.

Hi Amnesty1! I didn't think your question was mean, I think it shows a deep curiosity and thirst for understanding. She is successful in her own right and very clever. I read this on the internet so it must be true. Thanks for asking!!

You're quite right, but selling it this way is a win-win-win. Paris Hilton gets publicity, which she likes. Plunket and Cure Kids get some money they wouldn't have otherwise had. A Paris fan gets a boarding pass which means something to them. And the whole Trademe community gets a laugh. No way will I withdraw it! Thanks!

I read this on Stuff (as I'm a kiwi in London).
As I see you are inundated with Qs already, you don't need to answer. And perhaps you have already mentioned via Q / A already - or spoke of it during your on-air interview - but I was wondering if even in this time of economic difficulty you spend the extra amount to travel 'business class' then perhaps you may consider donating proceeds to a charitable cause, as you may not really need the money?

Hiya Grumpa, I don't know that I am that comfortable with you referring to me as Your God. I might be temporarily (and semi-anonymously) famous, but I haven't been deified - or even knighted - yet! And yes, there were threats of being attacked with a large spoon when I wanted to bid on that other guy's girlfriend, but we've worked through that now and I will be better soon. Thanks!
10:02 am, Sat 29 Aug
Well well well, since i saw this auction last I see you have put all proceeds go to charity.... That is very generous, and I certainly applaud your kindness :) Is there somewhere we can vote for Trademe member of the year? Im sure you would come out tops

This is great, good on ya!! You realise any plans you had for the weekend will have to be put on hold as you're probably going to spend the whole time answering questions, hehe. I can't believe people are being negative or rude, they need to get a life, this gave me a good little giggle, great way to start the weekend. Thanks. BTW - did you have a good holiday in Fiji? Great job with humour. Shame there are sad people out there who just wanna ruin things.
Perhaps if you responded with a "." so the rest of the TM members can see who are the negative/abusive traders. That way it will show them as being "bad" people. Love the humour and we need more of it. Thank you

Hi, hello you don't have to answer this because well its not a question, more of an observation, you might want to check lbc123's feedback..of the last five auction wins, 1 positive feedback, 2 negative feedbacks and 2 incomplete purchases on auction wins. Hi, would you consider swapping for some of Elvis Presleys toe nails (frozen), a book (dog eared) that brad pitt once (may have) read, a wig (smelly) that will make you look (un)like Marilyn Monroe and a voucher (kind of out of date) for a free big mac? seriously though, great work, great responses, and good on you for the donation, best of luck with the auction.

I don't really know what to do about that actually. But hey, when I listed it I thought I'd raise $100 and a few funny questions, not a world wide web storm! Thanks, I'll ask Trademe on Monday what I should do!

Hmmm. There's no question mark, so it's not a question. In fact, there's no punctuation at all so perhaps it's not even a sentence. And it starts with 'dude'. I know! It's Keanu Reeves! Hi, thanks for the comment!

Yes, I know lots of things that are amazing that might interest you, but I think it's in breach of Trademe terms and conditions to talk about them here. Thanks!

Thanks Krystal. Not sure about the word "EVAH" - it appears to be "HAVE" backward. The Edge is the best have backward? Oh, yeah, I'd agree with that. Thanks!

Hi Treadbrook, After 9.00pm tonight you will be ready for a holiday in Fiji, why not consider a group tour and take 44,000 new friends with you ?

Are you by any chance a travel agent? Or do you just like being one of my new friends and want a holiday in Fiji? Geez, imagine the first round of drinks I'd have to buy! And I don't think Wadigi Island would cope, either. Thanks anyway, but nah, I need to work for a while now and pay off the Denarau bar tab... :-)
5:04 pm, Mon 31 Aug
Gidday again Treadbrook...Yip I did work in travel once, but you've got to look for the opportunities !! Just imagine 44,000 people checking seat pockets for you and what they might find.
I'm a bit worried about your unpaid bar tab though...you obviously had thirsty friends with you !

All my friends seem to be thirsty when it's my round!

This isn't a question but advice...When it's your shout, try "Spin the bottle with a full bottle" I saw a guy do this on a boat in Tauranga once, and everyone scattered !!

Sounds like very irresponsible behaviour to me! Mind you, Tauranga people aren't necessarilly bound by manners like people North of the Bombays. Thanks!

Dats good!

I just read about this on The Edge website (while checking out JJ's updates). Your comments have made me smile as much as the Scary Washing Machine did :P Good on you for giving us all a laugh!

Ms. Hilton, if you'd care to buy back your boarding pass via TradeMe (as verified by TradeMe staff), I will match the winning bid with a direct donation to the two worthy causes. Can anyone get Paris to comment? Or better yet, bid?

Mmm, good point, assuming she's on the East Coast of the US...then again, can anyone add a comment to her Twitter page just in case she has assistants watching that space for her?

Yeah, but the noise of the tweets might wake her. Let's not risk it.

Yep, giving it all to Plunket and Cure Kids. And what's more, Trademe aren't going to charge any success fees on the auction, so the charities get it ALL! Cool, eh!

Hi,
Well I don't really have anything productive to say like everyone else. However, I do have a question to ask. Do you know if the boarding pass is able to be laminated at all? Do you know what kind of material it's made out of by any chance? Only asking as we once laminated a Concert ticket and it ended up getting burnt! My niece wants to buy this pass and laminate it since she's a big Paris fan. Cheers, Jess :=)

It's just cardboard, so yeah, it should laminate okay. I know what you mean about those concert tickets - they're kinda plastic and they melt. This should be just fine. Thanks!

It was Air Pacific. But I came home Air New Zealand. The curry on Air Pacific on the way over was good, but the Air NZ over-head locker was nicer. Cheers.

Hi, my luggage finally caught up with me after 4 days. Could you let my boss know that I don't need that lingerie allowance? Also, would you consider a trade for 2 x business class boarding passes and underwear that's reached sentience in its own right? The underwear did sit in the business class seats... I've had to book an extra seat at Claridges tonight for it/them, as it/they seem get lonely when I leave it/them alone. Good luck with the auction in any case!

Ummm... yes... you didn't really say who your boss was, but most of NZ appears to be reading this so I am sure he got the message. Stand your underwear in the corner and don't let it go out until it has done the dishes. Cheers!

No that's definitely legit, My friend saw her in Auckland airport a few weeks back. Cool Find!
Thanks for the comment! Yeah, a couple of people have told me that the women's magazines reported that she was here on her way back from Fiji, so I figured it was for real.
