In a sold-out tour running nationwide October through November 2003, the trio of Joe Satriani, Steve Vai and Yngwie Malmsteen put on their G3 show: three guitarists putting on a nearly three-hour show to a crowd of awestruck fans. Having achieved tremendous success and critical praise in their own careers, this tour marked the first time the three influential guitarists have joined forces on the same stage. Continuing with the same successful formula as in years past, fans were treated to individual sets by each guitarist with their own bands before joining Satriani and his band on stage for an all-star jam session.
