These mounting plates accept 3 1 watt LEDs, a perfect number, because I also sell 1 watt leds in sets of 3 :-)

3 LEDs on a single small mounting plate really means you do have to have this fixed to something acting as a larger heatsink at least if you are going to be running them full on for any reasonable period of time. Heatsink tape will do the trick - see my other listings for it, put tape on the back, and then stick it to something metal. Also a small piece of heatsink tape (or compound) between the center pad of the PCB and LED itself is a good idea!
