One of the ways to support student’s knowledge and use of Te Reo is to ensure that within the classroom environment, bilingual signs are used to reinforce vocabulary.

(Not all students are able to make the link when just the word in Te Reo Maori is attached to an object.)

This resource, which will be emailed to you, as a .pdf file, contains 112 cards each 6.2cm x 9.5cm. for you to label objects in the classroom or use as part of your instructions or discussions

Each colourful card has both the English and Maori word for the object or phrase.

The cards will add a splash of colour to your classroom displays as well as being informative.

An additional set of the cards could also be printed and used as an independent quiz activity for a small group or buddy work.

With expectations on teachers to use dual signage in classrooms, these cards will be a great addition to your class environment.
