Description
Michael Crichton is the author of many books with a scientific theme, both sci-fi and non-fiction, although his most famous is undoubtedly "Jurassic Park" which has spawned a movie franchise of note.
This book is fiction and addresses some issues around our genetic world: Are blondes becoming extinct? Is a loved one missing some body parts? If our genome is so close to that of a chimpanzee, should we be worried? What if it is edited to be closer still? Is the new genetic cure for drug addiction worse than the disease?
Crichton mixes a lot of fact with a fair sprinkling of his own ideas to create a novel that is fast-paced and thought-provoking.
This book is 2006 edition hardback (with dust jacket) and in very good condition. The back cover has the remains of a sticker which obscures the bar code, and a small crease (in photo) from being jammed into the bookcase at some point. The open edges are roughly cut in the fashion of the early 2000s.
