Near-new Fender Telecaster (Made in Mexico), bought new at Christmas last year, with incredible tone from the Kinman AVn 60s custom pickups (which cost ~$500 a set) and a recent setup by guitar specialist Ray Ahipene Mercer - this plays and sounds simply fantastic!
4-way Kinman NoSoldering harness gives you an extra bit of bite from the two pickups in parallel, and quality CTS pots. As I still have the original pickups, I'm happy to include those in the auction as well - they're boxed now along with the switchplate. Also includes a gigbag from the Rock Shop. Some very minor fretboard wear near the headstock, but the body is in practically perfect cosmetic shape.
From the Kinman site - http://www.kinman.com/html/myProducts/teles.htm
"Think of the very best Telecaster tone that you can remember; well this set has more body/girth/fullness (never thin or excessively bright) but is not muddy. It has very nice complex Alnico midrange detail...and it has almost zero hum and zero microphonic whistle. Another feature is the superb string output balance. Even the appearance of the original Tele pickups has been retained, the bridge unit has the black string coil overlay and the neck pickup has a Nickelled cover."
His customers comment - "Your 60's tele pickups are worth their weight in pure gold. You own silent single coil theory."
"Plugged in my 60's tele pickups and WOW!!. This is the strident vintage tele sound I have spent years looking for. Absolutely brilliant tone, clarity and warm fat sound, everything you said they
would do. These are GOLD. I've been playing on and off for over thirty years and now you have given me the sound that I dreamed about."
Only selling because I was seduced by a '62 Custom Tele, so I now have more guitars than hands to play them with. Grab yourself a bargain - you'll be getting the pickups free for LESS than the retail price of the guitar!
* Shipping is at buyer's risk, this doesn't come with a hard case... *
