Ultra-Quiet Complete Vacuum Assist Kit


This kit is manufactured specifically for a vacuum assisted power brake system in an electric vehicle, or to enhance the performance of braking systems in internal combustion vehicles.

The kit comes with all the components needed for a vacuum assist solution, except for the reservoir, which may or not be needed anyway because of the pumps such high flow volume. The parts include an ultra-quiet pump, automatic shutoff switch, relay, fuse, tubing and oil
filled muffler. Most pumps used for vacuum assist are quite noisy and this goes against the whole advantage of having an ultra quiet EV.

The pumps are extremely well made, with a very strong die cast body and are not only quiet, but very smooth in their operation.

The other advantage of a higher flow rate (99 litres/min) means that the pump is only on for a very short time, further reducing any noise sitting at the lights etc. I am using one on my own EV, and even with a reservoir, it only runs for 1-2 seconds. Why spend hours making a sound deadening box for a diaphragm pump, that not only keeps some of the noise in, but it also keeps most of the heat in on an air cooled unit.

These kits are very well priced in comparison to a diaphragm pump alone. So essentially you are getting the switch, relays, fittings, tubing, fuse etc. all for free and still being cheaper than a Thomas type pump.

If comparing to prices from overseas suppliers, don't forget to include exchange rates, freight cost, GST charged by Customs because they will be over NZ$500 and Custom clearance charges. Also sometimes terrible delays, just when you are trying to get your vehicle under way.
