Napier - no where else can you see such a variety of buildings in the styles of the 1930s - Stripped Classical, Spanish Mission, and above all Art Deco, the Jazz Age style - in such a concentrated area.

DECO DAY FOR TWO PEOPLE

Watch the 20 minute Art Deco movie at the Deco Centre (163 Tennyson Street) and check out the collectibles in the Art Deco Shop.

11.30am
Take the Deco Bus Tour, which is an opportunity to see the sights outside Napiers City Centre including the Inner Harbour, raised from the seabed by the 19312 earthquake, the National Tobacco building and Marewa, the Art Deco suburb. This tour takes 75 minutes, finishing at the Art Deco Centre.

Enjoy a light lunch surrounded by Art Deco memorabilia at The Tennyson Hotel (opposite the Deco Centre)

Meet your walk guide back at the Deco Centre to take an Afternoon Walk (2 hours) starting with an audio visual introduction in our Theatre before the guide takes you on a walk through the compact Art Deco Quarter of the vibrant City Centre bringing Napiers story of destruction and re-birth and the fascinating architectural history to life for you.

Your Deco Day will conclude at 4 p.m. with a cuppa at the Deco Centre - tea/coffee/water provided.
