My name is G Raffe, and Ive been enjoying some adventures around NZ.
I arrived in New Zealand following my long journey from Africa (Or was it China?). Since I arrived, I've seen many new sights, met lots of new people and traveled hundreds of kilometers by road, rail, bus and hoof. I'm currently in Wellington hanging out with some of my new friends.
Check out the photos from my travels - see if you can work out all the places Ive been.
At just under 5 foot tall, Im quite a large soft toy. But giraffes are tall right? I reckon that makes me even better at giving cuddles, and helps me stand out from (or above) the crowd.
Im looking for my next family, so Ive decided to let the people at Camp Quality put me up for sale. Ill be coming to you with my travel journal, which contains 36 photos, including some you won't have seen before, of some of the places Ive been on my journeys.
The proceeds from this auction will go to the Wellington Central branch of Camp Quality - a non profit volunteer organisation that provides support for children aged 5-14 who are living with cancer. Please see our store page for more information on our national charity, or check out our other auctions on site.
Over a 2 week period Camp Quality be selling lots of other things, so if you dont want to take me home, then please have a look to see if there is anything else youd like.

Unfortunately not. However i'm a vegetarian by choice and don't usually have trouble finding food. I do like it when my meals are served up high though.

This was taken when I passed through a little place called Owhango. Its about half way between Taumarunui and National Park. I actually stayed the night here.

My human friend has just called a freight company and she thinks it would be just under $100 to send me to Wanganuui. She thinks if we squash me down a bit, then it might be cheaper than that though. But she'll need to do some more measuring when she gets home tonight.

No, I was at Kibirnie Pool in Wellington. Thanks to all the lovely people I met there, including the man who was lane swimming and lent me his goggles so I could pose with them. I think I looked pretty sporty, although it turns out giraffes don't like to swim....

I'm a vegetarian, so I'm more than happy with leaves and twigs. And I used to sleep standing up, but I've recently discovered a bean bag at the place I'm staying, so that's where I like to sleep now.

I had to borrow these boots. We'd been on a tramp up to Ketetahi hut on Mt Tongariro. I'm pretty glad they didn't make me carry the pack though!

I'm pretty tall, so I mostly find that walking through the human door works best for me. Although I'm still learning how to open doors so I may need some help with that. I wouldn't recommend riding me though, unless you're child sized. I think your feet would end up dragging along the ground...

Although I haven't ACTUALLY met many giraffes except at the zoo- but never haveI heard such a sense of humour from one with such a long neck. I think a bow tie would look lovely on you or a Bee Gees type white scarfe- rhymes with G-Raffe. Good luck on your future travels.

Hello Mr G Raffe, Would you be interested in selling some A4 colour photo copies of your pictures? It's just that my (almost) 3 year old daughter just loves you, I cant even sit down at the computor these days with out her trying to scramble onto my lap asking to see the "gebraff"!! I'd love to get some pictures to make her up a book as well as helping your cause. I'm sure there are other parents out there that would feel the same and maybe another way we can contribute :-)
