"This book certainly provides a number of innovative dishes and will see frequent use in our kitchen. It is divided into chapters on types of dishes, such as soups and starters, followed by chapters devoted to specific countries and this forms the bulk of the book. It ends with a chapter on rices, breads and chutneys, with another on making up powders and pastes. At the end it has a useful glossary to explain some of the lesser known ingredients. I would rate this as a handy book for anyone who has ambitions to experiment with spicy dishes from the East with good step-by-step instructions for each recipe plus an estimate of preparation and cooking times. It is well illustrated, which always helps to whet the appetite and show how a dish should look when finished. "
