PIGS CAN FLY
Did you know over 1000 children in New Zealand live with arthritis? ‘Pigs might fly,’ you say, ‘that’s an old person’s disease.’ Yet children as young as two are diagnosed with arthritis. It limits their play and fun with other kids, and they will probably have to live with arthritis for the rest of their lives.

Arthritis New Zealand has teamed up with high-profile New Zealanders to help children with arthritis. International cricket umpire Billy Bowden kindly signed and decorated a piggy bank for us to auction off to the highest bidder. All money raised goes directly to help fund the Arthritis Camp.

With your help, we are raising funds to send these children and their families on a camp where they can meet other children with arthritis and learn more about their condition.

About the piggy bank:
These plastic piggy banks are a brilliant bright orange, with a lovely top hat and a cheeky grin.

About the children’s camp:
Arthritis New Zealand provides rheumatologists and arthritis educators to help parents learn more about their child’s condition and strategies for coping. Meanwhile, the children are free to play and socialise with other children (and their siblings) who may have the same condition and limitations, during a range of fun activities. They also learn to manage their exercise.
