Out of disaster comes a silver lining for Children with Cancer & their families…

This vessel was very generously donated by the Daina Shipping Co. and their parent company Costamare Inc. for the purpose of selling in order to raise funds for to the Tauranga region of the Child Cancer Foundation.

We wish to acknowledge the generosity of the following:

The salvage operators from Svitzers & Smit based in Mt Maunganui. Without their help, enthusiasm and willingness for the lifeboat to go to a good cause this venture would not have happened.

New Zealand Marshalling and Stevedoring limited Mt Maunganui, who instigated the initial contact between Child Cancer Foundation and the Salvage Company & put it in the water for us.

Tauranga Bridge Marina for allowing us to moor the vessel for the duration of the sale.

Bay Insurance Brokers for taking care of our insurance needs while we have ownership of this vessel.

Mount Auto Electrical for providing life (batteries) to the vessel.

Comes with Heavy duty ropes, Steel Tow line, Storm anchor, skids (for sliding it down the side of ship), Food & water rations, 2 X fire extinguishers.

With some imagination and modifications you could use it as a maimai, houseboat, tourist venture, playground attraction, disaster evacuation pod, just park it on your front lawn, wait for flood and ensure you have two of every animal... You never know if it happened once...
