Much like Justin Bieber, we at Coca-Cola Amatil New Zealand have got a special place in our heart for Starship. As you know, Starship Children's Health provides world class healthcare for close to 120,000 children each year, but this does not come cheap. They need to fundraise over $5 million annually to keep giving New Zealand children the best care possible. Given this, we have decided to put our skills to good use and try to raise a few coins for the kids.

This auction is for a place in the Trade Me Invitational VIII to stump up and show your skills or your heart against CCANZ’s Celebrity VIII at Indoor Cricket. Impress with your hook shot, your googlie or your form behind the wickets or just join the team for the opportunity to help some folks and get a few autographs. Who knows, if you pony up enough we might even let you play with the celebs instead of against them.

We have assembled a stunning team of Cantabs for you to have a crack at. These include: Ryan Crotty (Crusaders), Ross Kennedy (Crusaders), Tyler Bleyendaal (Crusaders), Hayden Shaw (Black sticks / Wizards), Sara McGlashan (White Ferns), Rod Latham (former Blackcap), Tom Latham (Blackcaps / Wizards), Chris “Bondy” Bond (More FM breakfast DJ). We might even sub ourselves in for an over or two but to be honest we’re not much chop and you’d have a better chance at winning without us.

The game kicks off at 6pm, Wednesday 30th May at Action Indoor Cricket in Hornby. If you win this auction, you’ll get a place in the team, a Coke T-Shirt (try and get a few signatures on this and maybe flog that for charity as well?) and I’m pretty sure we can muster up a few ice cold beverages on the night too.
