This auction is for a framed g-string that was found around a seal’s neck, ironically below Lovers Leap in Dunedin.

We will frame the g-string, the article from the front page of the Otago Daily Times, and the official photo of the seal with the offending item around its neck.

This homemade looking g-string or skimpy loin cloth was removed by a DOC office from a seal’s neck on the Otago coast last week. Had it not been spotted and removed it may have threatened the seal’s life.

Forget Lisa Lewis’s bikini – this is the next must-have item.

This item highlights the risk of rubbish entering into our oceans. As we saw in our Our Far South trip rubbish from all over the world ends up in the Southern Ocean and on our subantarctic islands and threatens wildlife unnecessarily. Please discard of rubbish thoughtfully.

All proceeds from this auction go towards the Million Dollar Mouse campaign, which will eradicate mice, the last remaining pest, from the Antipodes Islands.

Thanks to DOC for kindly donating this item.
