AUSIE THE VINTAGE AUSTIN BUS
She is a unique part of New Zealand history .believed to be the oldest vehicle in NZ available for Public Transport .

All the running gear is original and the coach work has been lovingly restored to a fine standard .

She runs on an original 4 cylinder petrol engine and when I bought her she was handle start only ! We now have an electric start so you don't need to be a wrestler to start her . ! The gearbox is a very original crash box , so you will have to polish up your double de clutch to drive her .. ! Normal four speed box with reverse . Pedal layout is triangular ( throttle below to help with the d d clutch .)

There is no lighting and a bulb type horn so she is only licensed for day travel .

The original wheels were cast with solid tyres but to ease the ride I have front pneumatic tyres and wheels . The originals come with the bus .

All ready to work now or to take pride of place in a transport museum ..
