This is a CP2102 based USB to Serial (sometimes called a USB TTL Adapter, or FTDI Adapter), but it's not just ANY adapter, it's a design that I specifically sought out in China because it has the BEST PINOUT for direct connection to the 5v Ardunio Pro Mini, and most Arduino clones that don't have USB built in.

Namely, this board uses an FTDI compatible pinout, other adapters on the market do NOT use the correct pinout, necessitating messing about with wires to re-order the pins, some don't even have all the right pins on the end.

But with my CP2102 boards, you don't have to muck around with fiddly wires every time you want to connect it, just plug and go. Easy and tidy exactly the way its supposed to be!

To make it even more convenient, I've included a female right angle pin header, so you can just solder that header into your Pro Mini or other device and plug this in horizontally.

The adapter also has printed on the silkscreen the "standard colour indicators" of "GRN" and "BLK" on the two end pins which again, are printed on Arduino Pro Minis and other Arduino type clones, so when you plug it in you can be sure it's the right way up (which is obvious anyway, but just in case you're having a really bad day) simply by looking that the "GRN" and "BLK" pins on the board match the "GRN" and "BLK" on your Arduino, talk about foolproof!
