Here we have a good condition F&P P120 cupboard with light and magnetic seal. It was a fridge/freezer until last weekend.

My story begins on a mild winter's day in Matamata - gents, you may wish to grab a hanky. An ordinary, everyday man (me) could take no more "reminders" about the state of the garage and set to cleaning it up. Upon opening the door of the beer fridge (purely for research purposes of course), I was dismayed to find that surrounding the freezer box was unequivocal proof that global warming is a crock of sh_t. An iceberg, nearly as big as the one that floated past Dunedin a few years back, rendered the freezer as useful as a lettuce at the Dotcom mansion.

Being a proactive sort of a guy, I decided to fix said freezer, but, by now, I was in a cleaning frenzy (you've all been there, right guys?) and couldn't wait for it to defrost by turning the power off. I was a coiled spring, like a much shorter, fatter, whiter, Usain Bolt in pink household gloves.

What to do?! What could I use to de-ice the freezer?!

Oh hey, what about that chisel on the workbench? That'd do it!

First mistake. Men should never, ever wear pink rubber gloves.

I was chiseling away, when suddenly, entirely unexpectedly, the fridge made a noise that I can only describe as sounding like Elton John on the morning after a particularly good curry at George Michael's place.

"Oh goodness" I exclaimed. I raced into the house, drank the last of the milk (straight from the bottle, because there was only a little bit left), rinsed it out (ready for recycling) and sprinted back out to the garage to catch the gas. I think I got most of it and it's included in the sale so you can pour it back in.

Anyway, the obvious life lesson is -make sure you have a milk bottle handy when you de-ice the freezer with a chisel.

F&P Cupboard is fairly clean (well it's not like you're going to store food in it) and was working perfectly prior to the chisel shaped hole being placed carefully in the gas reticulation channel.
