Can I get it without Richie McCaw's signature? Kind of spoils the look. jonjazz (1905 )  7:08 pm, Thu 22 Oct
If you want one without Richie's signature, you'll have to buy it at your local electronics retailer. 8:59 am, Fri 23 Oct
Excellent cause. Unfortuantely out of my price range. Best of luck with the auction! lala73 (753 )  10:47 pm, Thu 22 Oct
Sorry to hear that, but thanks for your support! 9:03 am, Fri 23 Oct
I'm concerned that the signature will fade/come off. Is the signature permanent? cplanet (235 )  1:01 am, Fri 23 Oct
The signature was done with an oil-based Sharpie paint marker. According to the pack its fade-, abrasion-, and water-resistant. 9:04 am, Fri 23 Oct
If we were to win who would we pay funds too; ie direct to charity or to your account? beawizz1 (572 )  9:13 am, Fri 23 Oct
The funds would be paid directly to Lifeline's account. 10:44 am, Fri 23 Oct
Is his signature compadable with windows 7? mrlye (53 )  9:58 am, Fri 23 Oct
Yes of course - one's the world's best rugby player and one's the world's best operating system. 10:34 am, Fri 23 Oct

Which has more RAM, the notebook or Richie? I mean, he has one mean tackle. gamez0r (60 )  1:59 pm, Fri 23 Oct

i was interested until i saw that there was a big scribble on the top. johnkimble (294 )  4:30 pm, Fri 23 Oct
Hi, can you please explain how "we" (YOU - HP) are giving it if Richie won it ?? I would really like to bid but want to be sure this is not just a cheap marketing scam. Thanks and Cheers! thecoolestone (127 )  8:53 pm, Fri 23 Oct
HP gave this laptop to Richie - one of the first available in the world with Windows 7 - and being the nice guy he is, he agreed to sign it and let HP auction it off for Lifeline. The laptop is ready and waiting to be sent to the winner when the auction closes. 6:08 pm, Sat 24 Oct
Hi, please don't answer this, but I see that one of the bidders is topnew and you need to know that this person has bought several things from me but then shows no sign of life and doesn't pay, so is not a serious bidder. Good luck with the auction! chapman1 (158 )  3:22 pm, Sat 24 Oct
Richie is a public figure so to speak so would it also be possible for the winner to get a lock of Richies public hair too? jonjazz (1905 )  7:11 pm, Sat 24 Oct
He's looking hot in these pics lol so does the laptop! missy-barbie (40 )  10:11 am, Sun 25 Oct
It is a good looking laptop! :-) 7:51 pm, Mon 26 Oct

hi there this is definitely a great cause and yeap this is so out of my price range but good luck to the winner and yeap richie you rock leen04 (45 )  12:05 pm, Sun 25 Oct
Thanks, we agree! 7:52 pm, Mon 26 Oct
isn't the cpu speed wrong? CPU Speed: 1.6 GHz ???? madcat11 (1039 )  2:26 pm, Mon 26 Oct
It is a quad core processor, which makes this a very grunty machine! I have changed the CPU speed to reflect this. 3:57 pm, Tue 27 Oct
Will the notebook run the new Chrome OS when it is released? innerwell.n (286 )  7:43 pm, Mon 26 Oct
For consumer notebooks, HP only supports the OS we ship with the unit (as we do extensive testing, etc to ensure reliability/stability, etc), so no! 3:58 pm, Tue 27 Oct
Good Cause :) I'm wondering why the CPU speed is 1.6Ghz, That's considered slow.... battling_boy (297 )  9:52 pm, Mon 26 Oct
The CPU speed is 1.6GHz, but it is a quad processor which essentially means it is four times faster than 1.6GHz! 4:03 pm, Tue 27 Oct
does trademe still charge you fees for this auction? skate_bd (248 )  3:58 pm, Tue 27 Oct
The good guys at Trademe have waived their fees for this auction because it is helping such a great cause! How awesome are they??! 4:01 pm, Tue 27 Oct
If only you had as many bids as Views! spazza (166 )  4:17 pm, Tue 27 Oct
For all those people asking about the cpu, it is the new i7 model which is alot faster than the old core 2 duos and quads. These new i7 cpus also feature turbo boost which bumps the speed up to 2.8ghz for most of your everyday tasks. Hope this helps. brendarnos (55 )  11:13 pm, Tue 27 Oct
More than happy with the 1.6 Quadcore - sounds like a rocket-ship! Would this unit be able to calculate the average velocity of a Swift much faster than a dualcore model? blairosnz1 (17 )  11:16 am, Wed 28 Oct
I like it when you said this is the best operating system in the world but i think Apple would eat this up and spit it out for afternoon tea. With the amount of money this is worth go out and get a mac book pro. ralyrt (64 )  11:57 am, Wed 28 Oct
why are you not answering certain questions? madcat11 (1039 )  6:39 pm, Wed 28 Oct
