I think you should take out the cost of a new bag and cell phone from the auction winnings and donate the rest to an abuse prevention charity. Those saying that the auction is wrong need to consider those morons paying $3000 for a $20 bag just because some other moron has handled it in a bar fight.

I am deeply saddened to see this perfectly serious and honest auction ruined by complete idiots bidding ridiculous amounts that they are absolutely not going to be able to pay. If your top bidder does not front up with the said amount (even if it's 100+ million) I would be more than happy to provide free from all costs litigation proceedings to ensure the bankruptcy of the person/s responsible. Here's an idea... Make a list of the idiots who place bogus bids and place it here where WE, the legitimate users, can see who they are. That way if Trade Me cant or wont do anything about them, we can by blacklisting them from our auctions. Theres not much those bogus bidders can do on trade me if we stop them. Fantastic what your doing, this is what "Auctions" are all about, its a shame that there have been so many bogus bids, however it seems trademe have it under control now. The whole idea of these types of Auctios is that its an item that has "become" valuable due to the demand for that item, its about letting the market decide what its worth. Great work, I would of never guessed over 10K though, woah!
