Ross 780 "Velella"

This is one of the nicest trailer yachts you will find. I am only the second owner of Velella. She is constructed of glassed double diagonal kauri ply, launched around 1990 and is still in very good condition. During my 5 years ownership she has always been shed stored and has had the following upgrades; new standing rigging, new Honda outboard, new windows, new wheels, duratorque axles and brakes on the trailer etc...

I have not raced her but the previous owner raced her extensively in Wellington. She is carrying a modified bulb keel to stiffen her up for Wellington conditions but has a second class legal keel available. We have used her to cruise the Hauraki Gulf, Taupo, Tarawera and TeAnau.

I looked at hundreds of rubbish yachts before finally finding and purchasing Vellela. I am regretfully selling her because a growing family has led to a move up to a keeler.
