1990 VFR400R NC30.
Rego on hold. Will need work for a warrant.
It's a runner, however the battery is dying. And the radiator leaks after a stone hit it. It also coughs and splutters above 80kph, I suspect the carbs are blocked.
The front brake disks were brand new, but the shipping company must have dropped them at some point since they're warped.
Painted recently by myself. Inspired by the VTR SP1 style and RC30 colours. Not perfect, but has been well received by others. Primer overspray is on the tail and windscreen, managed to polish some off but will need a proper buff with a polishing machine.
Has had a hard life. I've dropped it a few times (same day I rode it out of the paint booth). But the worst damage was from a car backing into it. I fixed the tank, but the muffler still has the shape of the curb left in it. Brand new double bubble windscreen was broken too, now plastic welded together.
Rough muffler was originally made by Zorsts. Sounds exceptional, and along with the gear driven cams and V4 motor makes this one cool sounding bike.
Edit: Just found the original muffler. Has a few scratches but otherwise it's in good condition with no dents.
Also have some misc. parts that were left over from a mates race bike. Bits of wiring loom including indicator and headlights and switchblocks, spare radiator fan, another flywheel, etc.
Front tyre is a Conti Race Attack. Barely scrubbed in, grips really well. The rear is a Conti Road Attack. Squared off but still a fair bit of life in it.
Rear shock has been rebuilt. Feels much nicer now and shouldn't be a problem again.
Don't want to sell it. I've had it a few years and I've become quite familiar with it and am proud of the work I've done on it. Spent a lot of money on it too. However, I have too many projects all requiring money to get going and I need to sacrifice one.
Viewing recommended. Can be made mint again, but will need some skill and/or time.

The price I'm looking at is the reserve. And I'm hoping to make space for projects, though I'd consider swapping. What have you got?

I am keen. My mobile number is on display on this page if you want to contact me on that.
What state are both cars in? Have they at least got their rego's on hold? Are they close to Wellington?

I've not taken it to get a warrant lately so I don't have a proper list of what needs doing. Though what I'm aware it needs is: New headlight relay to get the highbeams going, carbs need opening up by someone that knows what they're doing (I don't) to have a proper clean out and front brake disks may need replacing or skimmed at least.

Seller Comment: And a new battery would help.

would you consider swapping for a cbr 250r 89 with tyga front and sides, works mints, nothing to work on just got scratch marks on right (some dickhead in town pushed me bike over), nothing serious, i can send you pic's of it. but its pretty mint condition, never had probs, always serviced... i'm looking for about 2800 hundie though, consider swap and 600 hundie one top of your bike?

Awfully tempted as I miss my old CBR250. Great thing about this VFR was it's like a grown up version. Give me a text any I'll send you my email address. I need the money and space really, but I'll consider it.
