Rare cardboard milk cap as used by milk vendor L E C NEWPORT of OPUNAKE in Taranaki.
These cardboard caps (tops) were used in the wide mouthed milk bottles which were phased out in the late 1940s. However with this being for an individual vendor rather than a city or town milk supply it is likely that this was used in the 1930s or early 1940s.
Found lying in dry earth under a building so a little bit dirty on the back but overall a very good condition cap.
