- Listing #: 488144689
For those who missed out on the beautiful sideboard/dresser which sold last week I have an equally stunning piece this week.
A similar long-line design, floating on a four point splayed base, also entirely constructed in solid Mahogany and showing superb mid century style and craftsmanship.
Comprising a set of three slightly slimmer drawers along the top, with matching deeper drawers below with fabulous swirling grain in beautiful warm, tobacco tones, each featuring a recessed elliptical handle.
A solid piece of beautiful Mahogany makes for a stunning top and has a softly rounded, angled arris around the front edges.
The fabulous leg design with a sleek straight stretcher across the centre that flows effortlessly into the four heavily angled and tapering legs which visually allows the upper sideboard to float in mid air whilst being stable and strong.
This piece as well as last weeks has exceptional character and the very high craftsmanship is evident in the fine dovetailed joints throughout, solid drawer carcasses and exceptional design that will easily find a home in a modern inner city living or a turn of the century bungalow.
Condition:
Fully restored throughout, completely stripped to bare wood, cleaned, lightly sanded and six coats of Danish oil applied to seal and bring out the natural beauty of the timber. All drawers run smoothly with no repairs past or present. There is a slight knot and split that has been properly filled as seen in photos and is very minor and only seen under closer inspection 9/10
Dimensions:
Length: 1520, Height: 700, Depth: 400
Pick up in Mount Maunganui or I can arrange transport for those outside the area.
Keep an eye on my other listings as I am always restoring something different and interesting, all finished to a very high standard.
I enjoy bringing classic pieces of furniture to life for people to use and enjoy for many years to come.
