A stunning pair of mid century Scandinavian loungers from Airest!

Beautifully sculptural and well crafted with strong Scandinavian lines, similar to the Don and Vono Narvik range of the 1960’s with lots of glowing show wood and stunning atomic wide armrests

Condition: Woodwork fully restored, upholstery original; the upholstery is an attractive textured boucle complete with sewn in Airest label. It is intact and presentable but well over forty years old so sun faded with a few marks and a little wear. I have given them a thorough clean and as the fading is relatively even they are perfectly usable as they are. The cushions are the zip off easy to recover kind so if you prefer to give them a re vamp it would be a straight forwards and rewarding project, or very simple to drop the squabs off and have them recovered professionally. The foam is in excellent condition and remains clean firm and comfortable so replacement would not be necessary

The frames are richly grained Sapele Mahogany, we have cleaned and removed all the old shellac and build up taking them back to the bare wood, there are minimum signs of age to the patina but nothing of note. We have fully restored the finish in authentic condition with fresh coats of shellac and a vigorous French polish and the stunning Mahogany is once again glowing at its best. They present as extremely tidy and attractive (please see photos) All joints are sturdy, no wobbles damage or repairs, the springs are excellent firm and supportive no rust no issues
