I have the pleasure of offering today a wonderfully designed, compact dining suite with beautiful clean yet bold lines constructed entirely in solid Mahogany & in fantastic restored condition.

An elegant, distinctive design featuring a sectional back that plays on the positive & negative shapes with its three cut-out, hyperboloid panels of solid mahogany showing exquisite craftsmanship & fine detailing.
A generous comfortable seat, luscious Mahogany frame and finely shaped boomerang back legs all combine to make a chair that is extremely comfortable & beautiful.

The compact circular table is crafted in solid Mahogany, featuring swirling rich grain raised on four subtly tapering legs that repeat the chair design.

History:
This dining suites origin is one of the most recognized mid-century furniture designs to come out of America, & every bit as desirable today as it was fifty years ago. Originally designed by Broyhill USA, the Brasilia range was & still is highly desired the world over, crafted in a range of timbers.

The Brasilia line was created in 1962 and derived from the distinctive architecture of the city of Brasilia, the capital of Brazil.

Brasilia was planned & developed between 1956 and 1960 where most of the city’s recognizable architecture was the vision of Oscar Niemeyer. His most notable works are the Palacio de Alvorada & the Cathedral of Brasilia (last photo)

Condition:

The table has been re-laminated, clamped with a custom made jig, stripped, fine sanded, sealed and finished in six or more coats of Danish oil.
The chairs have been re-upholstered in a durable satin black vinyl with a subtle texture, frames have been re-glued where needed and finished in Danish oil as above, no repairs past or present and the suite shows fantastically. 9.9/10
