2.When I tap the shade, it doesn't sound like glass. How can I tell whether the shade is really glass or if it's plastic? When a sheet of glass is flat and uncut, it has a "ting" sound when you tap it. However once the glass is cut into many small pieces, copper foiled and leaded together on a mold, the properties of the glass changes, and its sound becomes a "thud" sound. Many people interpret that this dull sound indicates the shade is made of plastic, when actually glass was used.

3 Are you selling original Tiffay lamps, reproduction Tiffany lamps, or Tiffany style lamps? We sell heirloom-quality reproduction Tiffany lamps and Tiffany style stained glass lamps. We do not sell original Tiffany lamps made by the Tiffany Studio, New York.
