Description
This lovely platter was made at the Burslem Factory in England.
Trademark, Pinder, Bourne & Co.
17" x 13.5" Quite heavy
The impression stamp leads me to believe it was about June 1879, it also carries the maker and pattern type (Teddesley) stamp, plus some other marks as per photographs. I'm still learning to read these things.
The rose pattern far as I'm aware with my non expert eye and research is Transferware.
I found researching this piece fascinating and this company was subsequently taken over by Henry Doulton in 1877 who continued to use the Pinder, Bourne & Co trademark for some time.
No obvious cracks or chips, Pattern slightly worn in places.
I think it's in fair condition for it's age, certainly well used by the previous family for many years, please view pics carefully for current condition.
Sold in 'AS IS' condition.
Payment/Pick up within 3 days of auction closing please.
