This is a Chinese Red Desk Telephone. (Not to be confused with the Fire Engine Red) It was made in 1956. This phone is in good condition. From my personal collection. These are extremely rare.

This phone is the deluxe model - fitted with the bell on/off function (For privacy when you want it) and the "RECALL" button in the middle - which I have modified to become a mute button

It has been cleaned/refurbished inside and out (It has been taken apart and the wiring, wiring terminals and mechanisms checked and then cleaned) The hand set, earpiece and mouth piece and dial have been sterilized

The refurbished dial has a easy action and returns to the correct rest position. (The chrome dial has been taken out and cleaned, checked and reassembled) The finger plate is in good condition

It has good speech clarity, and is a nice phone to hear as the bells are "jingly" rather than "bring bring". So it quite a lot softer than other bell telephones

This phone is in good condition. There is a hairline crack on the front right (Just below the dial). This is a desirable and a great talking point for visitors to your home, and works during those power outages!

It is correctly converted and ready to plug in and use. (Fitted with a BT line cord) It can be plugged in and will work fine in a standard house jack point

The original woven handset cord is in average condition, it has faded from the original red colour - with a little wear

This phone has been modified to ring on incoming calls on the legacy telco networks. This phone uses pulse dialing, you can dial out on Telecom, and other providers possibly Vodafone (But is dependent on your line set up.) In some cases you may be required to purchase a dialgizmo - which I do also sell, will enable this phone to dial out correctly, and on all networks.
