Print of my acrylic painting. This is of the Avro Vulcan that attempted a landing at the opening of Rongotai airport, Wellington in 1959.
Its left main bogie clipped the bank and broke backwards, the pilot applied full power and climbed his lame bird away and flew 100 miles north to crash land at Ohakea.
I was there at Ohakea and saw the landing that day so Ive done this painting in remembrance of the event.
The auction is for a Giclee print only.
If you look carefully you can see the wheel at the point of breaking and also note the subtle single point of colour (the roundel) that accents the otherwise mono colour painting.
This print is a Limited Edition signed by myself. All prints are personally signed and numbered.
This sale is for an A3 size print on silk finish 180gsm paper suitable for framing. This paper is archival quality said to last for 200yrs.
Note that the pic is of my original artwork
