Dated 18 Jun 1964 At TE ARO P.O.S.B.

Complete with counterfoil still attached.

Condition : Has a centre fold and some corner folds. Is not completely intact with some gaps on the centre fold. Has a stamp mark on the back. These look like they have bee kept in a wallet for a short while and then placed in an envelope.

I have 7 of these up for auction, Please note the pic of the back is the same in each auction, any marks etc on the back will mentioned in the condition comment. Also I will combine freight if required.

These postal orders where part of a very tight money control system. To make difficult to send money out of the country, a limit was placed so you could only one 5/- postal order each day, and when you had enough of them you would send them of to Mother England to buy things for your hobby or the such like that could be ordered from catalogues.

Quite a rear item as most of these where sent to England.

Has some quant old legal talk like “The postmaster General will not consider any application in respect of an Order which has miscarried, or has been lost or destroyed, unless the counterfoil is produced.” Another comment on the note says “Postage stamps not exceeding two in number may be affixed here but not elsewhere (i) up to 5d for orders up to 4s. 6d. (ii) up to 11d for orders above 4s. 6d Odd halfpennies are not permissible.
