Nga Hau E Wha - Whanganui-a-Tara, 1989. Brass, 60 x 53 mm with suspension loop. Made as a fundraiser for a squash tournament in 1989.
An impressive, chunky piece. Reverse blank. With ribbon and mounted on card with poem by Kuini Reedy in Maori and English below (see photo), the whole in a ziploc bag.
Estimated mintage 175. A recent discovery, assigned number 1989/8 in the new "MacMaster II" catalogue of post-1941 medals, published in July 2014.
