Stunning genuine ox bone netsuke of a Japanese girl in kimono holding a scroll.
Artist inscribed signature (in Japanese characters) on base.
One of the finest carvings I have seen and part of a large collection of various Asian artifacts I have recently inherited.
Remember with netsuke there are variying qualities, this is a top quality example.
Measures: 50mm high x 33mm wide.
Netsuke was the object that attached a Japanese inro (small compartmentalised box used for small objects) to the kimono dress.
