Description
This is a Lachner piano serial # 23405 which was purchased in Canada in 1997 and then shipped to NZ 2004. I was told it was an English piano due to the wood which suits a damp climate . The Lachner brand was manufatured by the Bell Piano and Organ company which was in Canada, NZ, Aus, SA and the UK.
The wood has a french polish finish with ebony keys and genuine ivory keys. All 88 keys work and the piano is in excellent condition. The 3 foot pedals all work as well. They are slightly tarnished.
According to "the Bell Piano and Organ Newsletter - Volume 1, issue 1, the piano is from 1910-1912.
The piano is a lovely piece of french polished furniture and in very good condition. The piano workings are in good condition and it will need a tune once moved to a new location. The strings, soundboard, pinblock, keytops, hammers and action are all good. The ivory has not yellowed at all.
Pick up is Forest Hill, North Shore. Please contact me if you'd like to view.
