Description
Two fab Original Mid Century Modern Armchairs made in the 1960s with fabulous strong frames but in need of new swabs/upholstery...
One a Low Liner Chair..the other a high back.
Made by Parker Furniture of Australia in their renown sleek and Sculptural style... Very high quality indeed.
I have the original upholstery as shown in some of my photos, but the swabs are crumbling badly and one seat covering in particular has a large hole underneath...the buyer is welcome to take the upholstery if wanted but are selling really just as the timber carcasses.
It doesn't take a lot of imagination to picture these two chairs with new rectangular swabs in wonderful new contemporary fabric of your choice.
Just think what you might have to pay for these retail..when restored.
I'm not sure what the solid timber construction is..but I think Parker used Queensland Maple...or teak..but perhaps mahogany..I'm really not sure..
What really took my eye apart from the beauty of its design, is the wonderful method of creating the joints..( shown in my close up photo)
Thee is no weakness in the joints or splits to the timber..some water spots ..but the frames are really in very strong condition.
Pick up only please by appointment, and you're welcome to arrange your own freight company to pick up for you.. I'm afraid I won't be packaging for transport.
