Description
I bought this beautiful (and most likely unique) desk over 20 years ago on the Kapiti Coast from a woman who told me that this piece had been commissioned for her and her husband in the mid-1970s by Tony Grieves of Tauranga. Sadly I don’t have room for the desk in my current home so offer it reluctantly for sale. Hand carved, I believe the woods used are a mixture of Rimu and Kauri. There are 3 carved panels along the back. If your room is large enough, you can position the desk so you see the panels. Each side is also carved.
The top of the desk and drawer fronts are hand adzed, very much in the style of Arts and Crafts architect Chapman Taylor. In good condition although there is a small crack and the odd mark on the top doesn’t really detract from the whole piece however in my opinion.
Approximate Dimensions: 1.83 cm wide, 76cm high, 98 cm deep (Shipping & Insurance to be arranged by buyer)
