Up for auction is this lovely vintage FLOWER brooch by EMMONS. The long silvertone brooch is beautifully made and set with many sparkling crystal clear rhinestones.

Condition: good vintage condition with a secure/safety clasp, all stones are present and sparkling

Age/History: unknown but my estimate would be from the 1970s to 1980s

Dimensions: 75 mm x 25 mm

Stamped/Marked: EMMONS and the copyright symbol Sarah Coventry jewellery received its name from Charles H. Stuart, the founder of Emmons Home Fashion. Sarah was named after his grand daughter where as Emmons was named after his wife, Caroline Emmons. The mark for "Emmons" was first used in 1948 and Emmons was incorporated in February of 1949, with Sarah Coventry coming into being, November of the same year. They started their business under home fashion shows and maintained the way they did business until 1984.

I have been liquidating my huge collection of great vintage jewellery over the past few years and there are still quite a few pieces (or should I say boxes :-) left. Most of my jewellery comes from New York where I have spent numerous holidays in the 1980s and 1990s. In addition to that I have started to sell my mother´s jewellery which she used to sell in her bric-a-brac store in Zurich, Switzerland. She had the shop for many years and it was always a great source for my own collection too. However due to her age unfortunately she has decided to give it up.
