Up for auction are these fabulous vintage clip earrings by TRIFARI. The elegant gold tone earrings are beautifully made and set with neon yellow cabochons. As far as I can judge the cabochons are made of glass.

Signed/Marked: TRIFARI TM Gustavo Trifari was born in Naples, Italy in 1883 and trained as a goldsmith under his grandfather, Luigi. In 1904 he emigrated to New York and began working with an uncle making costume jewellery. Circa 1910, he and his uncle founded Trifari & Trifari. Circa 1912, Gustavo branched out on his own and began to make high-quality pieces under the name Trifari. Trifari was purchased by Hallmark in the late 1970s.

The jewellery I am offering comes from my own collection (most of it is from my numerous trips to New York in the 1980s and 1990s - still remember them fondly! :-), my mother's second-hand shop (which was located in Zurich and she ran it for about 20 years) and several Gisborne women who used to travel the world between the 1940s to 1980s.
