NEW ZEALAND WWII MEDAL, MEMORIAL CROSS, SCARCE!

The NZ Memorial Cross is awarded to the next of kin of all NZ servicemen and women killed while on war service overseas, or who subsequently died of wounds received while on war service overseas, since the commencement of World War Two.
The King George VI New Zealand Memorial Cross has been awarded to the families of the more than 11,000 personnel who died while serving in the New Zealand Armed Forces during the Second World War.

Issued to Private Ross Finlayson from the 24th Infantry Battalion, Serial # 443783.

Private Ross was killed in action in Italy on 24 September 1944. Son of Alexander Murdo Finlayson and Arima Mary Finlayson, of Dargaville, Auckland, New Zealand.

Medal is 34mm diameter, sterling (.925) silver.

Pleasant light toning, EF condition with original ribbon and with an original box. Ribbon is in not very good shape but I am fairly sure you can pick up spare ribbons at a reasonable price.
