Description
Above all else, sword was the mark of a warrior in the Viking age. Difficult to make, and therefore rare and expensive, very few men were armed with swords. A sword might have been the most expensive item that a man owned. In the Icelandic Laxdaela saga (1245AD) it was said it to be worth a half mark of gold, which was equivalent to sixteen milk cows, a very substantial sum.
Hand-forged from carbon steel, our Viking sword has a beautiful double-edged, fullered blade. The hilt fittings are brass with a wooden grip. Wooden, bound scabbard.
Two options available: *Plain sheath *Leather bound hatch sheath
