This is a hand made string helmet net in the style of the type worn in the Desert by New Zealanders during WW2. Photographic evidence shows that they were in wide spread use. The feature of this net is that there is a ring at the apex. This net was hand made from natural 5 ply jute using the correct knots and construction. Orginal examples are very rare and as such this net is ideal for museums or reinactors. The net and knots will tighten over time and may benifit from being wet to give a tighter fitting apprence. Each net is slightly different but they all fit the standard Mk II helmet. If you want more than one net please ask. (Helmet not included)
