Original Goldie school Oil painting approx. 1904. This beautiful work is the in the style of Goldie and is not a copy. It is signed by AC - the artist A Cameron who i understand worked alongside of Goldie painting similar works in Goldie style but with Camersons own style of feather cloak and patina. This style of Goldie painting is similar to Goldies famous "serentiy 1904" painting brought by the NZ National Museum a decade or two ago for the sum of $450,000.00

Harata (Charlotte) Rewiri Tarapata was the wife of Chief Paoara Tuhaere of Orakei (Ngati Whatua). Harata herself was a decendant from the two noted Chiefs plus her father was Hokianga Chief Te Wharerahi.

This is my understanding but please verify this independently.

The frame is showing its age as you would expect with something this old. But the painting itself is in very good condition.
