Description
2 photos mounted on card (29.5cm x 24cm) there is a wave to the 2 mounting cards (1) SS Rosamond tied to a wharf, looks like Greymouth to me, there is a crew of men on the ship. The SS Rosamond carried coal from port to port. No photographers name or caption, but I would think the same photographer as the others we have been selling namely James Ring (J.R.) who was a Greymouth photographer who came to NZ in 1879 and commenced business in Greymouth early 1881. Born in 1856 and died in 1939) The photo size is 20.5cm x 13cm. the odd mark on the photo and a light vertical fold line through the photo in the centre, more obvious when held at an angle to the light (2) Church and house West Coast S.I. possibly Greymouth, Westport or Reefton, I am unsure as there is no caption. Photo size is 20.5cm x 13.5cm. Foxing on mounting card and the odd mark on photo. Old glued short tear in photo top right and bottom middle.
Xxxxxxxx This is the last of our west coast photos. We will protect them with 2 pieces of cardboard which cost us $1 and we are passing the cost onto the purchaser. The NZ Post plastic bag will also be good should the parcel be delivered in the rain. Xxxxxxx
