2 Maori carved boxes/Papahou. Buy one piece for $220, or the pair for $350.

Piece 1 - SOLD - box with clock inserted into lid.

Piece 2 - This 1970's "Kaitiaki" kauri box has a carved lizard/skink (Mokomoko) on the lid, and detailed geometric designs on 3 sides.The Mokomoko was considered to be an effective guardian partly because its escape plan was so well developed! This piece is in good condition. The lid is 25cm x 11cm. The wood seems to be Rimu.

Piece 3 - This is a 1970's-1980's "Tapu" Rotorua piece. The piece has some additional knife marks, and the carver of the face on the lid of the box seems to have carved the 2 short sides as well, but only semi completed the carving on the front face. This piece is in average condition. In perfect condition these sell for $450 on Trade Me! Rimu or totara wood, I think. The lid is 25 x 11cm.
