IN MY FAMILY SINCE I CAN REMEMBER THIS IS A VERY SPECIAL EXAMPLE OF FINEST R/D PORCELAIN. IT IS HANDPAINTED AND SIGNED "J Hughes." an artist who specialised in painting Castle scenes for Doulton. His Cabinet plates are famous but I can find no other refs to demi tasse.
The pictures speak for themselves. The cup features Linlithgow Casle and the saucer Kenilworth Castle.
Gold trim is immaculate on both pieces.

Dates from very late 1800's to 1920.
