This casket was made by myself for a friend who eventually chose a cremation instead. It is strong, well made and crafted with love and care in solid macrocarpa. Professionally made coffins are very expensive. The Kiwi Coffin Club started by a lovely lady called Katie Williams encourage folk to make their own, this is a fine idea. If you cannot, but would still prefer something honest, then this box may suit. It was made for a slender person around 5ft 9 or 1.8m high. I've placed this auction in Collectables as it didn't feel quite right in "Health and Beauty" or "Home and Living", although there are connections. Some folk call these caskets "underground furniture". I like that. The internal dimensions are 1740mm long and 520mm wide @ 500mm down from the top, then tapering to the feet.
