I am not sure what sort of bird this is but it looks like some sort of Pheasant to me. He measures 34 cms tall NOT including the wooden base and is 79 cms from beak to tail. The tail feathers feel like they are wired and they are not in the best condition. They aren't broken as such but they are a bit tatty.
