This collection was purchased in India 41 years ago and is in good condition for its age. It has vintage wear and patina. The surface of this brass develops a grayish film, but is resistant to tarnishing. All pieces have the same intricately etched artwork with 5 out of the 6 pieces having a rubbed colouring effect in the light. The pattern is of leaves and flowers. Any wear or damage is described for each piece.
1. Larger vase 20.5cm high, 7.5cm diameter at top edge, 6cm diameter at base. Has a small dent (0.5cm wide) about 6.5cm from base.
2. Smaller vase- 15cm high, 6.5cm diameter at widest part, 5cm diameter at base.
3. Bowl with lid - 5cm diameter, 2cm high. With lid on, 4.5cm to top of knob. Inside of bowl has some blotchy spots.
4. Enamelled Plate in red. 16cm diameter with scalloped top edge. 1.5cm high. enamel has worn off edge on one side (with cleaning?)
5. Larger pitcher 24cm high, 15cm from top of spout to edge of handle. 10cm diameter in bowl.
6. Smaller pitcher - 18cm high, 11.5cm top of spout to edge of handle. 8.5cm at widest point of bowl. This is the plainest piece in that it has no colouring in the etched areas. There is some damage to top of handle, so the lid is not anchored, but just sits on the top.
