Description
19th C Chinese two handled copper/ bronze censer
A wonderful copper and bronze censer which is very heavy. The design of the dragons on its side is older and reminiscent of Ming Dynasty era designs. We think it is at least 19th C due to the pitting of the bronze, but it could well be older than this.
The censer has a tapering straight-sided form, inlaid with brass on both sides with stylised dragons. It has two handles of archaic style with brass edging, with a clear seal mark to its base.
Diameter: 12 cm Height: 8 cm
A wonderful solid piece that could hold some surprises in terms of its age.
