Description
Contemporary sculpture of a rugby player. Taken from Zac Guilford in action. I call it The Flying Hooker. Made of plaster of paris and wire. Painted and sealed. Developing a patina. Made in 2012 by myself. I did a body of work in rugby then. These figures take hours and hours to make. They are very durable, they can take a knock-on :) Height 29cm width 20cm.
My idol in figurative sculpture is Alberto Giacometti. Google him, you will better understand this work. I attended an exhibition of his in Zurich when I was so enamoured by his sculpture. Alberto was born in Switzerland, close to the Italian border, the same area where the Heidi stories were set and it is not far from St Moritz where I had a pink champagne in the Palace Hotel there on a special birthday.
