Oamaru Stone, hand crafted, jigsaw puzzle design carving. This is a 3 dimensional scuplture designed to be viewed from all sides.

Dimensions - 850mm high, 700mm long, 300mm wide

Weight - this is hard to tell as I don't have any large scales, but a good estimate would be 150kg

As you can see it is a very detailed piece that has been finished to a smooth sanded surface.

Over 100 hours of work has gone into this technically designed piece.

This piece was carved for display in the New Zealand Art Show 2011 and was also featured in an article in the Dominion Post, July 2011 (search Stuff - Stew Brodie)

I normally only make one or two large pieces each year, due to the huge amount of hours that go into them. I don't carve to make money, however I do need to sell sculptures to pay for stone to be transported from Oamaru to Wellington as well as replacement tools etc.

I have sold all of my large sculptures here in Wellington, however there is no reason a sculpture can't be transported anywhere.

Smaller works of mine are in homes and collections around NZ and in several countries around the world (USA, Australia, Singapore, United Kingdom)

I am also willing to sell either of the other two sculptures that are shown in the photo of 3 sculptures for similar sort of prices (I will be happy to negotiate a price).
